Love Never Dies (2012)

Set 10 years after the plot of The Phantom of the Opera, the Phantom has escaped from Paris to New York where he lives amongst the joyrides and freak shows of Coney Island. He has finally found a place for his music to soar, all that is missing is his love Christine Daaé. In a bid to win back her love, the Phantom lures Christine, her husband Raoul, and their young son Gustave from Manhattan, to the glittering and glorious world of Coney Island... they have no idea what lies in store for them... You truly haven’t experienced Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Love Never Dies until you see this spectacular new Australian production, filmed at Melbourne’s iconic Regent Theatre.

With the original West End production being a complete flop, the Australian premiere was seen by Andrew Lloyd Webber as the ultimate version of his work. As a result, The Really Useful Group teamed up with Universal Studios to film the show during its run in Melbourne in September 2011.

The film was eventually released on DVD and Blu-Ray by Universal Studios and even reached a top spot in the the UK DVD charts at the time.

In her review for BroadwayWorld, Pati Buehler said: 'If the Australian production is any indication of what will be brought to Broadway, the Big Apple is in for a real treat and Love Never Dies may be sitting in good company with The Phantom of The Opera.'
