Broadway's HAMILTON Expected To Be Released On DVD/Blu-Ray From Disney
Disney Plus is now streaming the full Original Broadway Production of Hamilton (stream here), and as Filmed on Stage learns today, the show will soon also be available through worldwide home distribution on DVD, Blu-Ray, and VOD Streaming. The new contract between The Walt Disney Company, Nevis Productions, and 5000 Broadway Productions that was recently altered to fast track the October 2021 release includes a multi-channel distribution deal in the following territories: Australia, Austria, Canada, Channel Islands, France, Germany, India, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Japan, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Puerto Rico, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom, and the United States. Disney Plus is expected to feature the film exclusively through 2020, while other distribution channels will have to wait for next year. As reported here, Disney plans to have Hamilton released on DVD and Blu-Ray in 2021, although exact dates are still awaiting confirmation due to the alteration of the original release date.
