Driving Miss Daisy (2014)

Driving Miss Daisy tells the story of the decades-long relationship between a stubborn Southern matriarch and her compassionate chauffeur. An iconic tale of pride, changing times and the transformative power of friendship.

From its original Off-Broadway production in 1987 to the Oscar-winning film starring Jessica Tandy and Morgan Freeman, Driving Miss Daisy is one of the most beloved American plays of the twentieth century.

The play appeared on Broadway in 2010 and was later taped for television with Tony Award winner Angela Lansbury and James Earl Jones as Daisy Werthan and Hoke Colburn.

Directed for the stage by David Esbjornson, the production was filmed in Australia at the Comedy Theatre in Melbourne for PBS Great Performances and is now available to stream online.
