The King and I (2019)

Set in 1860s Bangkok, the classic Rodgers and Hammerstein musical tells the tale of the unconventional and tempestuous relationship that develops between the King of Siam and Anna, a British schoolteacher. The modernist King bring Anna to Siam to teach his wives and children about the world outside - which turns into an exciting and educating ride.

The Lincoln Center Theater production of The King and I transferred to the London Palladium in the West End for a limited engagement, opening June 2018 with the original Broadway leads (Featuring Kelli O’Hara, Ken Watanabe, and Ruthie Ann Miles).

Michael Billington said in his review for The Gurdian: 'O’Hara, who won a Tony award for her performance, is a delight. She suggests a woman who is both spirited and sweet-natured and not only enunciates every syllable of her songs but invests them with emotion.'

Trafalgar Entertainment, which produced the London revival, filmed the production during its limited run. The filmed performance was later screened in cinemas worldwide in November 2018, just before the show embarking on its UK tour.

The show is now available to stream through various streaming partners, including BroadwayHD and Amazon.
